The research and competence areas of CAMT-FPC are in the development trends in technology, manufacturing systems, and information systems. A wide range of realized researches and implementations of the projects ensures continuous technological development and increases the R&D potential of the Centrum. Primary areas of development are additive manufacturing, laser, and material technologies. The location of the research center is in Wroclaw on the campus of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.

Her current research interests are related to medical applications of AM technologies (SLM/DMLS, EBM, FDM, 3DP) and includes the design and manufacturing of advanced biomedical objects, such as biomechanical functional structures (BFS) for tissue regeneration, custom-made implants and smart drugs delivery systems for a wide spectrum of materials dedicated to the medical and pharmaceutical industry. Research interests concern also in materials research, non-destructive testing and functional analysis of AM structures. Dr. Szymczyk is participating in numerous R&D projects, co-author of scientific publications in the field of additive manufacturing technologies, microbiological and materials research.
