Additive Manufacturing Meeting 2017

The inaugural Additive Manufacturing Meeting (AMM 2017) came to a successful close with 150 participants on June, 30. The 2017 edition consisted of a seminar on an industrial application of additive manufacturing (AM) and a technical exhibition. During the seminar, speakers presented the overview of potential applications as well as current trends in research and implementation of additive manufacturing in aerospace, medicine, automotive and consumer industries.

Program

The target group of AMM 2017 program was individuals and institutions interested in additive manufacturing technology development. The key focus was on the technological and implementation aspects. The organizers intended to present AM technologies in the perspective of the challenges facing the industry and medicine today. The program divided into four thematic areas:

Modeling. Issues according to engineering design and taking into account the capabilities and limitations of AM, topological optimization of products, simulation of manufacturing processes, numerical analysis (MES).
Materials, with a focus on the development of new materials, material testing, and control of powder materials.

AM Process Development. The bunch of solutions that deals with issues such as optimization of manufacturing processes, modifications of production systems, new technological methods, post-processing, control, and monitoring.
Applications. Presentations focused on implementation examples, cost analysis, industry trends and quality control.
